Where will you see my child?

Services are delivered at your home or your child’s daycare or school. Virtual therapy sessions are also available for families living anywhere in the state of Maryland. Initial meetings will likely occur with the family present, but if services will be delivered in schools or daycares, I will send a detailed report of what we worked on and how to support your child at home. Therapist-family-school collaboration is very important for success!

Do you take insurance?

Hello Baltimore Speech and Language Services is a private pay, out-of-network provider for traditional/commercial insurance companies. I can provide your family with superbills to submit to your insurance for any reimbursement they might offer. Please contact your insurance company to ask about requirements for receiving reimbursement should you pay out-of-pocket for services.

I also accept Maryland Medicaid. Please contact me for more information. All Maryland Medicaid recipients MUST complete the following to initiate services:

• Have your pediatrician fax a medical referral for speech-language therapy to (667) 435-2113

• Submit a copy of your insurance card(s) upon intake to ensure eligibility

FSA and HSA funds are also accepted.

What are your fees?

For private pay families:

• Initial consultation with family or screener with client: complimentary

• Speech-language evaluations: $400

• Speech-language therapy: $130/45 minutes

• Ongoing consultations, IEP Reviews, IEP Advocacy: $90/45 minutes

Virtual therapy and consultations available, but are determined case-by-case.

If your child is eligible for Maryland Medicaid, I will bill Medicaid directly. There are no out-of-pocket fees for Medicaid families for speech-language evaluations or therapy.

Does my child need a full evaluation speech-language evaluation before beginning speech therapy?

Formal evaluations are not required to begin therapy with Hello Baltimore Speech and Language Services, LLC. Initial “diagnostic therapy” sessions will suffice for learning more about your child’s strengths and needs, and target areas for therapy. In addition, I will review and integrate reports from previous evaluations. If you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance company utilizing superbills, it is possible that they will require test scores, therefore it is important that you contact your insurance company prior to initiating speech-language services to ask what their requirements are.

What does speech-language therapy look like?

Developing a strong therapeutic relationship with your child and family is the first step! We target speech and language skills through play, books, activities of daily living, games, music, movement, and art. Speech-language therapy is about connection and repeated practice, so we work hard to have fun while directly targeting skills!

Hello Baltimore Speech and Language Services, LLC delivers therapy in English, Spanish, or both depending on the child’s language background. Parent training can also be delivered in either language.

If your child uses augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), then we will incorporate that into therapy activities, as well as provide training and opportunities for caregivers to use AAC with their children. Please contact me if you are looking for a private speech-language therapist to provide an AAC evaluation.

How long are therapy sessions?

Therapy session are between 30-45 minutes in length, depending on skills and targets addressed. Initial evaluations, diagnostic therapy sessions, or initial consultations may be 60 minutes or longer. The SLP and family can decide on the best course of action for our initial session.

What areas of Baltimore do you serve?

I serve Southeast Baltimore, including Harbor East, Fell’s Point (and Upper Fell’s Point), Butcher’s Hill, Canton, Patterson Park, Highlandtown, Greektown, Brewer’s Hill, Bayview, areas of Dundalk, and areas of Essex. If you are interested in services, but live outside of those zones, you are welcome to contact me to see if there is availability for a different area. If not, I will do my best to refer you to a clinician near you!

Do you take clients receiving ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy?

Yes! I love working alongside ABA teams, as I believe strongly in multidisciplinary collaboration. Please contact me if you are looking to increase your child’s services, and add speech-language therapy to home or center-based therapy. I also specialize in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and am able to evaluate your child for an AAC device if needed.
